Google Anita Borg Scholarship

Google Anita Borg Scholarship is offered to female undergraduates and graduates across Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Korea, Southeast Asia and India on the basis of extraordinary academic background and leadership quality. This year, thirty two women of CSE, who were mostly 2nd and 3rd year students, applied for this prestigious scholarship from BUET. Samiya Kabir Liya out of the 32 and thousands many more around Asia, has been awarded the Google Anita Borg scholarship. This makes the success rate 3% which is a great start for BUET on its very first introduction to this award. Samiya Kabir Liya is the Vice President of BWCSE club. She thanks the alumni founders and advisors of BWCSE who have constantly helped and guided her through every single step and detail starting from filling up the application form to how to face the final interview of Google.

“Thanks to all those apu who have supported me, encouraged me throughout the process. I don’t even have enough words to thank you! Many many thanks for everything!” says Samia.
She will receive a scholarship amount specific to her local region in respect to tuition from  Google Anita Borg Institute from Japan.
