Workshop On Competitive Programming For Beginners
BWCSE organised an introductory session on contest programming on the 6th of May, 2017 at the VLSI Lab, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, BUET. It was conducted by Ayesha Siddiqua (Winner of Google I/O 2017 Code Jam), Tasneem Yasmeen and Salsabil Arabi Shusmi from CSE’14. They as a team became Champion of National Girls’ Programming Contest (NGPC) from BUET this year. The target audience was coding enthusiasts from batch ’15 and ’16. The purpose of the workshop was to encourage beginners to delve into the world of coding and to give them initial support by familiarizing them with sites such as CodeForces, LightOJ, CodeChef, UVA Online Judge, etc. Followed by the session, there was a question- answer round, where participants shared the troubles they faced while doing programming and our trainers provided helpful solutions to them. Participants were provided snacks at the end as a token of appreciation.
